I gave you my heart, Los Angeles, as the sun shone over Silverlake above Sunset.
Pretty girls in vintage frocks pitter-pattered until the dishes and pans were ready to disrobe their sheaths of foil.
Dreamy boys mashed the taters, poured the wine, and put on their best playlists for fairy-lit hem and hither.
Well, it’s been a year, and what a year it’s been. Now on the East coast, colder but closer to an understanding of home.
It’s the person on the other end of the line, earnestly wishing you the best, no matter the time of call. It’s about love.
Give it to someone special.
Merry Christmas.
xxx,
Joey

Quite frankly, I haven’t been quite honest with you, blog. I don’t even know what I’m trying to protect nor whether I even care anymore.
I suppose I was far too reckless with my honesty, before.
Complete disregard for other people’s, well, emotions and ongoing narratives.
And now I fear that I’m too afraid. A dichotomy of embarrassment and under-potentialising. I feel the need to ‘mature’. To protect the private lives of private people, to hush and class up my act. If this be the public face, the result of search Googled, then what can I bear to let you see and assume and project and personify?
And to what extent do I hide behind Born-again tact, scoffing at girls blogging about snogging my ex, twitpicing their dates and raising my heart rate. How much do I silence my rage, and low lows, or newfound excitement through an ever present melancholy at the cost of exercising my writing. I used to tell you everything.
I still have much to say.

Miss Wax and Vanessa Diaz bka Lady Ness of rawthentix.com collaborated and celebrated their two piece jewellery line last week at a smashing party in Tribeca.

Held at the Rare by Ruth Roche salon, I got to catch up with Ness amidst her designer-hostess-PR-machine-bartender duties.

The accessory – a studded leather shoulder piece with multi-width, cross-body chains add a pop of punk royale to any basic outfit.
I, of course, was enamoured with the mini cupcake spread by Glittle Cupcakes.

Paul [Lavish-Livez.com] and his bespectacled girlfriend were also in attendance.

I met the vivacious and lovely Ashley at a brunch a while ago and she wore the same block-lettered DOPE necklace. Love! She happens to be a stylist at Rare salon, someone remind me to give her a call, I need about a foot lopped off of my hair!

Miss Yvonne Kai flitted about leaving a suitor waiting in the wings like wallflower.

I ate more cupcakes. Red velvet, my fave.

Ms. Yvonne Kai had invited me along to the PRO-Keds Spring/Summer 2011 collection preview at Spur Tree Lounge in the Lower East Side. Now if you want to attend an event where men greatly outnumber the women, go to a sneaker showcase. Not complaining.

Event hosted by Carrie Koscal, PR from The Foundation.

Complimentary Jamaican fare: Red Stripe beer, jerk chicken wings and mini beef patties.

Yvonne spotted a fly subway rider who ended up at the same event.

Turns out he’s a men’s fashion blogger, Justin Bridges [tuckedllc.com] and his buddy, Paul Chin [lavish-livez.com]. I’m a fan of Paul’s DIY felt bowtie.

Suede was a hit.

Vanessa Diaz [rawthentix.com] and Yvonne with their picks.

This grey leather one was my fave.

Mine, Nessa and Yvonne’s rings.
