Silver Lake Sprinkle

After brunch, Tony said “Wanna go to a meadow party?” and I was like “Yea!”
So we bought a bottle of $15 wine even though the liquor store clerk really wanted us to buy the $150 bottle.
Stopped to take a few snaps of my princess petticoat.

Life is just better when you try to dress like a toddlers and tiaras toddler.

First time at Silver Lake meadow. Plenty of pretty hipsters on their pinic blankets with their precious babies (OMG babies).

Always carry a wine opener – advice an alcoholic would give.

Thank you fancy lens for giving me legs.

Thank you Marc Jacobs for the extra few inches, too.

Finally got to meet Sophia. Her and her boyfriend are the cutest and they live so close why aren’t we all best friends yet hi call me I will be pestering you on facebook hey whatcha doing for dinner wanna eat how about a drink hi hello do you know any babes?

SPRINKLES ON TOAST. SPRINKLES on errthang it’s Summer who cares?

The group kept growing and growing which meant more treats and more good cheer. Why don’t we do this everyday?

Then Tony bought me a flower from a girl selling them from the middle of the road, she was doing it to stay with her man. Her man carrying a cardboard sign. Anything helps. So I helped by putting it in my hair and gave my last princess’ decree of the day which was get Chinese food at Sam Woo.

Chicken, roast pork, roast duck, and garlic sautéed snow pea leaves.

Woot!

Princess perch

Brunch with Tony!

He took me to Home in Los Feliz. I’d only gone to the Silver Lake location before.

They sat us in the nook on the second floor overlooking the rest of the patio. I renamed it the princess perch. Because I’m a princess.

I ordered the chilaquiles. I’m always super embarrassed to say it out loud but I think I have it down now.

Tony’s crab cake benedict.

Hi!

Small Girls PR x Tumblr x Styleite PROM!

I tweeted “Am I ashamed or amazed at how quickly I pulled together a prom look from my closet? ”

Mallory and Bianca of Small Girls PR ended their 30 day prom-dress-a-thon for Tiza.com with a super adorable real life for adults prom at The Standard’s Le Bain.

Who doesn’t like prom? I LOVE PROM.

With my too-cool-rule-the-school date, Susie G and Mr. Dandy Project, Izzy.

The Standard’s staff babes. Love their Sailor Striped uniforms!

Prom princess and priestess.

Deuces.

Spring at Rare Salon

A hint of Spring in New York City!
Fully taking advantage of the, er, 50 degree weather and pretending it’s warm under the sun.
Trying really hard to be obnoxiously cute and charming.

Skirts and sunnies on. Paperbag potato knish and a bottle of vanilla cream soda. Cream soda is for charming days only, most charming of all sodas.

Had my hair high up in a ponytail, low maintenance for a lazy afternoon. Walked from the Lower East Side through Soho to Rare Salon in Tribeca for my free blow out.

Greeted by publicist, Vanessa, and, stylist Tammy.

Jeallie of Vanessa’s nails.

Hair treatment and scalp massage. Total pretty pretty princess day mode.
Ballet pink pumps, ballet pink petticoat, ballet pink pinkeverything.

My hair looks so long from here!

Done! Met celebrity stylist and founder of Rare Salon, Ruth Roche, and principal stylist of Rare by FS Charlie, Fatima Sheikh.
Hung out in their gorgeous space and chatted about the laid-back, chic, lounge-about culture at Rare.

Fatima goes to the same nail girl as Vanessa. Want. To. Indulge.

My stylist, Tammy, was so very lovely! She’s lived in the UK, Oz and New Zealand.
What a mish-mash of accents, had so much fun just chatting to her.

Aaah good hair days…
AM I CHARMING YET?
Am I a pretty pretty princess? Oh pretty pretty please?
Thanks Rare Salon! <3 <3 <3 Visit their website for salon hours, services, and rates.

Neither joy nor luck

Things we learn from our mothers. Like how to love.
I was about four when my mother told me that she didn’t marry for love.
That people generally don’t. But that it was just the right time.
Cuz my daddy was an honest man,
from a good family,
he wasn’t going to hurt her.
Cuz he asked and she was nearly 30.

She said “always be with someone who loves you more than you love them.”
She did.
Because to love someone
more than they do you, would be to suffer
and I, her daughter, did not deserve to live a life in pain.

And so I vowed, never to settle for a schmuck I didn’t respect, didn’t ridiculously adore
just to be safe yet unsatiated.

But these men, with all their genius and magic-stry,
I suppose, never wanted to settle with me – the one who’d always pretend
to love him less.

The things we learn from our mothers.
